strip is 2,997 square feet, and considering that the lot was sold in June 1900 at a premium of 60 cents per square foot and $600 per acre Crown Rent, 1 am of opinion that the offer is a very reasonable one and should be accepted.

6.

I am making enquiries through the Land investment Company regarding the other lots which I propose should be resumed and will communicate with you on learning the terms which the owners are prepared to accept.

7.

Meanwhile I request authority to accept the Land Investment Company's offer with regard to inland Lot 1087 and to approach the owners of the other lots interfered with with a view to effecting the exchanges indicated in blue colour on plan 'B'. Should they demur to these exchanges it may be necessary to resume their lots also.

8.

1 may mention that the scheme involves very little interference with buildings which are of value and indeed interferes but little with buildings of any kind.

I have etc.,

(Sa.) A. Chatham,

Director of Public Works.
