With reference to paragraph 3 of your Despatch
No. 268 of the 24th July last I am directed to inform you that in
accordance with the conditions of the Sterling Salary Scheme Dr Koch
draws no conveyance allowance. I have to refer you, moreover, to
paragraph 3 of Mr Lucas's letter to Dr Keyt of the 5th June 1902, a
copy of which was transmitted with your Despatch No. 187 of 20th June
1902.
2.
I may observe that during Dr Thomson's absence on
leave his conveyance allowance will be drawn by Dr Koch as the latter
will perform Dr Thomson's duties in addition to his own, and they
necessitate daily visits to different parts of the City.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient
Bumble servant,'
