Basil Tayler applying for the post of Harbour Master in this

Colony which will shortly become vacant through the retirement

of Captain Rumsey.

It gives me great pleasure to submit this application

for your favourable consideration. During the period in which

Mr Basil Taylor has discharged the duties of Harbour Master in

the absence of Captain Rumsey, he has given entire satisfaction

both to the Government and to the Public and I consider him in

every respect a capable and suitable Officer for the appoint-
