William Gascoigne 12th August 1902you that on the 5th of April last the

alias Li Kwai Fan on a charge of murdering Yeung Kui Wan on the
10 th of January 1901.
The accused was duly brought to trial and was convicted and
sentenced to death at the Criminal Sessions held last month.

The sentence was carried into effect on the 17th instant.
I have now the honour to transmit for your consideration
the enclosed printed copies of the notes of the Acting Chief
Justice in this case. The notes of the opening address of the
Acting Attorney General give the main facts of the case, but
these will be more clearly gathered from the enclosed copies ofa
