The body was then transferred by Lam Man

and Li Shing, two of the crew of the undertakers boat, from the

launch to their boat. The damper was cut open the body removed,

and placed in the hold of the boat. The undertakers boat then

sailed to Yaumati from which place it was towed by the Steam

Launch "Yum Hing" to Chik Wan. Cheung Cho Ting paid for the

undertakers boat and the two launches, but did not accompany the

body further than to Stonecutters Island. Chik Wan was reached

at about 4 B.M. on the same day at 5 B.M. the Chinese Gunboat "Kwong Hang" came alongside, a passenger from the Un Hing got on board the Gunboat; the crew of the Gunboat put two blocks of ice upon the undertakers boat with instructions to place one

piece on the dead man's chest and the other on his thighs. The

Gunboat with the undertakers boat in tow passed the Imperial

Maritime Customs Station at Tai Shan without the boat being examined, and proceeded to Tai Ping, near Fu Mun, the head quarters of Admiral Ho. At Tai Ping the body was transferred

into a cargo boat, and the undertakers boat from the undertakers boat was ordered to return to Hongkong. On March 28th. Lo Hi Po alias Lo Shang

questioned Kwok On and Wong So as to their master, and the personal appearance of his friend (Ng Luk). On March 29th. Kwok Oo and Wong So were taken to the Nam Hoi Magistrate's Yamen, were first examined in open Court and afterwards separately in a private room before the Nam Hoi Magistrate himself. They were again questioned as to the appearance of their master's friend, and were shown by the Nam Hoi Magistrate a photograph which they identified as being the likeness of their master's friend i.e.

of Ng Luk. After examination they were put in custody to await being bailed out which event happened on April 27th. when eventu- ally they both returned to Hongkong.
