is prepared to bear the entire expense of resuming private

property comprised in the area marked red, amounting to 22.72

acres, of forming the rifle butts, and of diverting any paths in

or behind the red or green areas which are found to lie across

the line of fire. The Government will also undertake to grant

the Military Authorities the use of a new Range elsewhere when

it is found necessary to terminate the use as Rifle Ranges of the

areas now under discussion.

His Excellency the Governor will be glad to

learn in due course whether this proposition meets with the ap-

proval of His Excellency the General Officer Commanding.
