It is further recommended that the existing
Superintendent of the Registration Branch, ir. Remedios, be in
the Deputy Superintendent, 2nd.Clerk; future styled '1st. Clerk, Registration Branch' and that two
clerks, with salaries of $960 rising by biennial increments
of $60 to $1,080, two postmen at $144 and four postmen at
$132 be added to the personnel of the Branch. I append a
statement showing the total cost of these changes and having
after careful consideration satisfied myself that they are
necessary and will conduce to the efficiency of the Department,
I have the honour to request your authority to provide for them
in the Estimates for 1904.
