With reference to your telegram of the

22nd. instant, I have the honour to inform you that ex-Police

Constable Taylor therein referred to was invalided from the

Police Force on the 15th. December last, and was granted a

gratuity (reduced by 25% owing to an indifferent defaulter

sheet) of $90. I enclose a copy of the Paper of Particulars

showing how his gratuity was computed, together with a letter

from the Captain Superintendent of Police recommending his

discharge, and a Medical Certificate testifying to his unfit-

ness for further service. The reduced gratuity of 890 was re-

commended by my Executive Council on the 15th. December.

The Police Authorities have no information

to the effect that Taylor was injured in connection with his

services in the Fire Brigade.
