China has been in a disturbed state and in my opinion
Exports and Jmports will increase and thus help a good deal to the
recovery of Silver, which latter event may not be far off.
The Chinese indemnity is probably not the only cause of
low Silver, the Ameriaan gigantio trusts may also have contributed
a good deal and we must not overlook, that Capitalists in the United
States are more or less interested in Silvar Kines in Kaxino. Besi-
des I may be allowed to say, that the pacification of the Transwaal
will have a benificial influence and stimulate the white metal.-
Taking everything into consideration my opinion is, that
& Gold currency, as long as China adheres to Silver, will do much
harm to this important Colony and to our Jmport, Export trade and
Shipping.-
