I am desired by Mr Chamberlain to forward to
you, to be laid before the King, the accompanying des- patch from Sir Henry Blake.
It gives Mr Chamberlain much pleasure to for- ward this evidence of the success of Sir Henry Flake's administration in Hong Kong.
It is premature at the present time for dr. Chamberlain to consider the question of extending the term of his tenure of Office, and, therefore, he is not prepared to advise His Majesty on the subject.
