Sir,

07 APR OT

March, 1903.

I have the honour to inform you that a

Petition has been received from the Tung Wa Hospital Committee

in which application is made for the grant of a small area of

ground, about 200 feet square, to be used as an extension of

the old Kai Lung Wan Cemetery, which is now full and cannot at

present be used for interments. It is proposed to disinter

long buried bodies in the Cemetery and store the bones in

urns in the extension thus setting free the Cemetery proper

for burials.

2.

The piece of ground for which application

is made is indicated on the enclosed plan. It is of very little

value to Government, being on steep ground and practically

hemmed in by the existing Cemetery. I see no objection to the

grant of the area to the Tung Wa Hospital for a term of 75

years on payment of a nominal Crown Rent of $1 per annum. and

?

I have the honour to request your authority for making the

grant on these terms.

RIGHT HONOURABLE

JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN, M.P.,

I have the honour to be, Sir,

Your most obedient Humble servant,
