The Principal Civil Medical RES

of the Medical Department shall be directly responsible to the
Government for the working of the Government Civil Hospital and
its annexes:-

through him.
The Victoria Hospital for Women and Children.
The Maternity Hospital.
The Lunatic Asylums.
Kennedy Town Infectious Diseases' Hospital, and
The Hospital Ship "Hygeia".
All Official Correspondence shall pass
The Senior Assistant Surgeon doing duty in
the Medical Department proper shall be the Superintendent of the
Government Civil Hospital, the Maternity Hospital and the Lunatic
Asylums, and be responsiole for the efficient working of the same
to the Bead of the Department.
The relation of the Principal Civil Medical
Officer to the Government Civil Hospital shall be that of a Visiting
Surgeon and Physician at home.
The apportionment of the duties of the re-
maining three Assistant Surgeons and of the Second Health Officer of
the Port shall be arranged by the Principal Civil Medical Officer,
it being understood that one Assistant Surgeon shall be resident at
the Government Civil Hospital and another at the Victoria Hospital
for Women and Children,
An Assistant Surgeon at the Government Civil
Hospital will be detailed to attend urgent cases at the Gaol.
The Health Officers of the Port are under
the orders of the Principal Civil Medical Officer.
