Report on Ordinance No.

2 of 190 3.

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled

An Ordinance to further amend The Marchant Shipping

Consolidation Ordinance, 1922, and to amend The Ver-

-chant Shipping Anendnment Ordinance, 1901,

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to

the Governor's Instructions.

Objects and Reasons.

To further amend the 'Merchant Shipping Consolidation

Ordinance, 1399, and to amend the Merchant Shipping Amendment Ordinance, 1901, in accordance with suggestions and directions from the Secretary of State and to meet certain requirements arising since the passing of the Ordinance of 1399.

Section ? amends section 3 of Ordinance 23 of 1999 by taking away the privilege of British Registry from ships not owned by persons qualified to register under the Taperial hip -ping Act: such as British subjects or Bodies Oorporats.
