At present no adequate provision is made for the proper
disinfection at the Mortuary of dead boxes and dead vans.
18. The system of drainage in the Mortuary appears
to be very unsatisfactory. I am of opinion that plans showing
the complete drainage system of the Mortuary Compound ought
to be prepared at once and the matter gone into from a thorough-
ly modern sanitary point of view.
19.
An European Attendant ought to be permanently
attached to the Mortuary Compound. The caretaking as done by
the Chinese coolies appears to me to be very unsatisfactory.
201 Proper Quarters, latrines etc., ought to be
given to those taking care of the Mortuary. The present
arrangement is primitive.
In conclusion, I am strongly of opinion that
unless a reconstruction of the Mortuary Compound be undertaken
in the immediate future, no provision is allowed for the safe-
ty of the officials, in charge of the Mortuary.
