I suggest that a copy of the correspondence

be sent to the Secretary of State and to Sir F. Swettenham,

Mr. Ireland having, in my opinion, disclosed himself in colours very objectionable in a person seeking as he does admission to

Government archives.

In case you may find it of some assistance

I attach what I think would be a fitting reply to Mr. Ireland.
