I would request that he may be provided with a supply of such drugs as the Principal Jivil Medical Officer may consiler suitable for himself and his wife, as well as a supply for the use of the workmen, among whom there is reported to have been a large amount of sickness.

In view however of the sickness which may occur among these Overseers and the large works in prospect, submit that two additional Overseers with special knowledge of waterworks construction be raquisitioned from England. Their salaries can be defrayed from the Votes for the works on which they are employed.
An additional man will be required on the Kowloon Works in connection with the construction of the service reservoirs and laying of mains, etc.. There will be no difficulty in keping both the men employed,
