In the case of a police for £5000, for which the usual premium
was
required
£ 105, in the early stage of the Boer War a premium of £ 367. 10% was from those proceeding to the front.
For the same policy,
in the latter
stages a premium of £ 214
required
In
my

the premium required,
or rather proposed, was £390 before the risk was ultimately refused al- Sogether.
