In
reply to your letter of the received
on the 24th last I am directed by Mr Sec Ch
to inform you that if you will forward to
this dept a satisfactory medical certificate
as to the present state of your health your
application to be allowed to commute your
pension

will be referred to the Cov of Hong Ko
ng.
2.
I am however to state that unless some
strong reason for desiring commutation is shewn
it is not

probable that the proposal will
be accepted.
3. In any case the commuted payment would not
be larger than five times the amount of your
annual pension and from this would be deducted
the amount of pension which you have already
received.
