attention has been drawn to the fact that a sum of $972 in respect of Increases of Pay to Lighthouse Keepers has been incorrectly charged in the Annual Account to the Harbour Master's Department instead of to Lighthouses.
The excesses on the various Heads, amounting in gross, as shown in the Account, to $515,128.91, have been duly provided for by Supplementary Appropriation Ordinance (No: 27 of 1902) with the exception of $129,209.24 under the Head "Military Expenditure". This excess is due to the fact that the percentage on the Revenue payable to the Imperial Government was raised in 1901 from 17% to 20%
while the Revenue greatly exceeded the Estimate.
The Detailed Statement of Expenditure is forwarded herewith.
