Sir,

Rose 4 OCT 201
I am directed by the Comptroller and Auditor General
to enclose, for the information of the Secretary of State,
a copy of a letter received from Mr: Nicolle, the Local
Auditor of Hong Kong, on the subject of the present Office
accommodation and the new arrangements for the Audit Depart-
ment in the new Government Offices about to be erected in
the Colony.
2.
The Comptroller and Auditor General understands that
in the plan for the new Offices a considerable space is
assigned to the Audit Department, and he trusts that it
may be possible so to divide this space that Mr: Nicolle's
reasonable request that he may be allowed a room to him-
self may be complied with.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
e Under Secretary of State,
