With reference to your letter of the 1st.Instant, No. 40592/1902, I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary Chamberlain, that Mr Brodrick approves of the employment of an Artillery Non- Commissioned Officer as Instructor in the Forts at Foochow under the conditions proposed, and that steps have accordingly been taken to secure the services of a suitable man.
