objection to the reference to the arbitrator being
extended so as to include the suggested tract of Crown
land around Nog Tau Kok, such ground being subdivided
for purposes of valuation into the areas required
respectively for Barracks, Training Ground, and Rifle
Ranges, if it should be your present proposal to locate
the ranges in this neighbourhood.
7. It will, however, be understood that the
Secretary of State for War can only entertain such
proposed modifications of the scheme of exchange approved
in War Office letter of the 13th June, 1902, Hong Kong
8/135, as meet with a ready concurrence on the part of
the Colonial Authorities, and are likely to be approved
without question by the Colonial Office.
