I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge
the receipt of your letter of the 15th instant transmit-
ting copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong,
giving reasons against the inclusion of "Safety Cart-
ridges" among the exceptions to "Ammunition of all des-
criptions" in Section 2 of Ordinance 20 of 1902.
In reply, the Board desire me to state, for the in-
formation of Mr. Secretary Chamberlain, that, having care-
fully considered the reasons in question, they do not,
in all the circumstances, desire to press the suggestion
made in their letter of the 13th September last on the
18353
subject.
