According to your instructions, I attended on

the 17th ultimo at the Yamên of the Namhoi Magistrate

the trial of the two extradited criminals from Hong-

kong, Kuan Kuei Hung and Lu A Ch'ang.

The former had been extradited on two charges,

(1) of plundering the Chên Ch'uan Kuan San licensed

passenger boat, and (2) of having extorted various

sums as blackmail from firms at Lo Ts'ung Hui in the

Shun Tak District.

The latter was accused by the Chinese Authori-

ties of having in September last year seized and held

to ransom for Tls. 1,200 Dr. Ng Sheung Hsin, and his

rendition had been granted on this accusation.

Kuan Kuei Hung admitted that he extorted, in the

name of the Ch'uan I T'ang Society, a sum of $100

from the T'ung Shêng firewood shop at Lo Ts'ung Hui
