Pofcrring to my report of the 15th intent on
the proposed French Post Office about to be estab-
lished in Amoy, I have now the honour to stete that
on learning that special permission would be neces-
sery before a room in the British Concession could
to sublet to him, the Director of French Telegre,dis
proceeded to hire a rock in the street behind the
Concess lon end proposes to open the new Post Office
on the lat of February.

Robert Hart, the French Post Offices in Chine will
accept letters for abroad bearing Chinese stumps
although China does not belong to the Postel Union.
