Sir:-
I am directed to acknowledge with thanks the
receipt of your letter of the lith instant, trans-
mitting a copy of a letter which you have addressed
to His Britannic Majesty's Minister at Poking, con-
cerning the murder of Yeung Kui Wan,
2. His Excellency the Governor concurs with
you in the belief that the case, so far as the Can-
tonese Authorities are concerned, can be pursued no
further, and desires me to express his thanks to you
for the careful enquiries which you have made in a
matter which so closely concerned the Government of
this Colony.
