Hong Kong - Howard v.Attorney General.
Gentlemen,
The petitioners in this case recently presented
a petition to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council praying for special leave to appeal from the judgment of the Supreme Court of the Colony dated 24th March 1902 and such petition was heard yesterday by their Lordships.
After hearing Counsel for the petitioner and for the respondent their Lordships held that the case was not a fit matter for appeal and they therefore dismissed the application with costs the view expressed by their Lordships being that under the terms of the Ordinance
No.16 of 1889 the decision of the Governor under sub-section
6 of section 7 of that Ordinance was final he having an absolute discretion with which no Court of Law would
interfere.
