With reference to his letter dated 18th

September 1901, No.706, and subsequent telegrams relating

to the Extension of the Murray Pier and the acquisition

of the Victoria Recreation Club premises at Hong Kong,

the Commodore in Charge is informed that Their Lordships

approve generally the proposals of the joint report

forwarded with his letter under reply, as follows:-

(1) The Admiralty to pay $15,000 to the Colony s

compensation for the loss of the Eastern side of the

Murray Pier.

(2) The Admiralty, at their own cost, to extend and

widen the present Murray Pier, and to construct a lead

and Boat Slip at the North end of same as shewn on Plan

B., the extended Pier becoming the property of the Colony,

who would provide a site there on for the Victoria

Recreation Club.

(3) The Admiralty to construct a Swimming Bath on

the Pier Extension, the extra cost of which, over the

ordinary filling and surfacing will be defrayed by the

Victoria Recreation Club, and no expense falling on the

Admiralty.

(4) The Admiralty to pay the sum of £1,500 to the

Victoria Recreation Club for the re-instatement of their

old
