I have the honour to transit for your information the enclosed copy of a report of the Acting Superin- tendent of the Botanical and Afforestation Department on a recent visit made by him to Mr. Li Pak's estate at Castle Peak
Bay in the New Territory, from which you will observe that
the enterprise of this gentleman has saved the Government the cost of establishing an experimental garden.

I have directed the Botanic Department to give every assistance to Mr. Li Pak, who is doing excellent
work for the New Territory.
