I beg to forward herewith correspondence on the
subject of proposal allegation of some of the nits of the Corps under my command into Zarrison Artillery.
I am strongly is,favour of the scheme and should
be only too glad to see the whole farpa become Barrison Artillery with the exception of the Engines Company.

The Corps is at the present time composel of 3 units and a band and under these conlisions are extremely difficult to train and are io oo way so velu.ble to the defence of the Colony as they would be if the proposed schone were sacried out.
With reference to paragraphs 3 and 7 in the 0. R. A. letter attachel, I think it woull be only reasonable to ask if par- mission would ever be granted for the man to drill or practice i3 other works in allition to Victoria Pattary, as it would not be pos- sible to agar brain any large number of men at once in the many duties of Harrison Artillary is a fort with only one gun available, and at present no practice is over carcizi out from Vistoria Battery, but possibly this labber coalition po longer exists now. To be thoroughly useful in assisting the Farrison Artillery in the lefence of the Colony the man should be lilbi with as many of the differaat guns as possiblə,
Nibh regard to paragrapg 9, if the proposal change takes place, I would strongly recommend for the favourable coasilər- ation of Big By the Geneet Offices Jomwasting that the Government be asked to allow an annual bonus to those members of the Zorps who prove themselves efficient, it would be of great assistance in attracting men to join and would also help the Staff to keep the men up to the proper standard by enabling them to reluce any man's bonus who was below the standard of the remainder V-K
