In the Estimates for next year, provision

has been made for these officers, (one of whom is designated
Laboratory Assistant and the 2 others Bacteriological Assist-
ants,) with amual salaries of $1,200 rising to $1,800 by $300 triennially. The duty of the Laboratory Assistant will be to prepare Danyz's virus and other sera and to assist
generally in the conduct of the Laboratory.
The duties of the Bacteriological Assist-
ant will consist principally in the bacteriological examina-
tion of rats.
