I have conferred with the Treasurer and Mr.Messer and we
recommend that the increases to Spirit Licenses be further
increased over and above the recommendation of doubling then made
in our report of 4th July last by adding 100% to fees for Publicans
licenses, making Eating House liceases in Victoria 120 instead of
$5 and making Chinese line and Spirit Shop licenses as follows:÷
Victoria (Mt.Davis to Naval Yard)

This would give an additonal $26,000 on public houses,
$3,000 on Eating Houses, and 324,000 on Chinese hide and Spirit
Shops.
We also recommend that Stamps on all duties other than
advalorem pe increased 200% instead of 100% as previously recon-
mended and that the same be done by fees for registration of
deeds. That would really only oring them up to sterling values
again. The only item at all contentious would be Bills of Lading. They are 10 cents now and.200% increase would make than 30 cents
which is the equivaleat of ôd the duty at home.
