Item (10) is to provide for additional accommodation required by the Sanitary Board beyond what was originally intended and to cover the extra cost of the work beyond what was estimated.
Item (11) has already been explained to the Secretary of State and sanctioned by him. The sum of $10,000 will cover this year's expenditure.
I would here explain that, of the amounts already voted as re-votes of last year's unexpended balances, there will be considerable savings. This has been largely caused by certain members of the available engineering staff having been diverted to duties connected with the visit to the Colony of the Sanitary Experts, thus rendering it impossible to carry out some of the works referred to.
