In conclusion, I would mention that the Committee, whose report I am forwarding in my Despatch No.302 of the 10th instant, had before them the statements regarding expenditure on Public Works enclosed in this Despatch when they made their report and their estimate of a balance of $100,000 at the end of the year was made with knowledge of the facts contained in those statements,
