With reference to the letter from this dept of the 12th of June I am directed by Mr Sec Cb to inform you that he has decided to appoint you to the post of Deputy Registrar and Accountant of the Supreme Court of Hongkong with salary at the rate of $3600 a year rising by triennial increments of $300 to $4200 a year.
2. Your appointment will take effect from the date on which Mr Hazeland was confirmed in his present post of Police Magistrate. The C.A. will be instructed to pay the salary of the post as from the beginning of your present leave of absence: the question of the amount due to you as arrears of pay for the period between the date of Mr Hazeland's promotion and the 16th of April last can best be settled after your return to Hong Kong.
