In the event of Mr. Hallifax being appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police, I propose that he and Mr. Wodehouse should share the quarters at the Central Station, and thus save the $720 a year in house allowance for an Assistant Superintendent of Police.

As soon as Married Quarters are built at Tsim Sha Tsui the allocation of quarters would be as follows:-
Central Station. Deputy Superintendent of Police
Assistant Superintendent for New Territory
Assistant Superintendent of Police

The amount of house allowance proposed for Mr. Badeley is $900 per annum and I have to ask your authority to insert that amount in the Estimates for 1903.
