If Mr. Chadwick should not be fully satisfied with Mr. Chadwick's remarks, Mr. Boulton thanks you and would be glad if he could find a suitable candidate for the post.
The salary will be at the rate of £600 per annum with an annual increment of £10 to £720.

Acknowledge this & say that Ag. have been authorised to say as in para. 4 of this despatch, but that the question how far all of these works can be carried out next year depends on the whole financial position when the estimates are before the S. of S., the proposals for fresh taxation, which are under consideration.
I ask that the passing of the estimates be expedited as much as possible be sent home for approval so that they may include £653/036 pumping engines, £337991.
