Government and the addition of section 84 has been practically approved.
These additions were directed by the Secretary of State and have been made, so that now the Ordinance seems to be in a completed state.

Sir,
I have the honour to inform you the H.M. the King will not be advised to exercise his powers of disallowance with respect to Ordinances Nos 9 & 10 of the Legislature of Hong Kong, entitled respectively "An Ordinance to amend the scope of the Tramways Ordinance, 1883 (No 6 of 1883) and the Tramways Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1883 (No 18 of 1883)" and "An Ordinance for authorising the Construction of a Tramway within the Colony of Hong Kong" transcripts of which accompanied your despatches Nos 226 and 226 of the 29th of May.
2. I have however to request that you will cause section 22 of the Ordinance No 10 to be amended by the substitution of the words "any Govt dept" for "Govt" in the 4th line.
3. This wording is necessary in order to afford protection to the lines owned by the Admiralty or W.O. as well as to those owned by the Colonial Govt.
