increase but I propose as will be seen to convert this small Anglo-Chinese school into a "linked" school with a Chinese side exactly similar to Wantsai or Saiyingpun, and there is no reason why different salaries should be paid. I believe Mr. Ng will do the work well. As he loses a rent allowance of $48 his net increase will be $720 - ($414 + 48) $258. He will have the opportunity of earning a maximum grant for efficiency of $120 instead of $60 as at present. On the other hand he forgoes his pension,
