Clerks being fully engaged in their respective duties in the Harbour Office and the second Clerk in the duties of Deputy Superintendent of Mercantile Marine Office, and this notwithstanding the fact that we have often to work overtime and on holidays owing to the special requirements of Departmental duties.
9. Under these circumstances, and in view also of the fact that many other Officers, although much junior to us in the service, are now in receipt of far better salaries and in some cases opportunities of supplementing the pay of their substantive offices, we venture to solicit that our case may be treated by His Excellency as a special one.
