the receipt of your letter of the 12th inst:

on the subject of the periods of the leases

of Hongkong Marine Lot No 3 and Inland Lot

No 6.

2. In view of the facts stated in the letter

from your firm in Hongkong to the Col: Sec:

dated 15th March last, and of the additional

considerations put forward by Mr Scott at his

interview at this Office by Mr Ch: has informed

the Acting Governor that he approves the pro-

posal that Inland Lot 6 should be regarded

as an extension of Marine Lot 3 and that a

lease for 999 years should be issued in respect

of the combined Lots, the lease and the period

of ten years within which the Dock is to be con-

structed to date from the 18th of April, 1900,

the day on which Marine Lot 3 was leased.
