The original Agreements, which I annex, contain no reference "Water Police" but if, as appears to be the case, they were under the impression that they were volunteering for Water Police work only and would not have enlisted in the Land Police, I do not think we ought to take advantage of the omission.
? send copies of these Agreements to the Colony, observing that their wording does not support the men's contention but leave it to the O.A.G.'s discretion to decide whether in the circumstances it would not be best to cancel the Agreements and send the men home. and send copy of correspondence to C.A. asking them to take care in future that Water Police are engaged for eight hours.
