If you approve of the creation of this new office, I have to recommend that the salary to be attached thereto be fixed at £540 rising to £600 by triennial increments of £30. This is the salary proposed in the Sterling Salary Scheme transmitted under cover of Sir Henry Blake's Despatch of the 11th. December last, which, if you have no objection, need no longer be treated as confidential.
