that this appt is required, but the salary should be at the rate
fixed for the surgeons of Hong Kong viz £480-720 by triennial increments of £40, (without any other allowances, & without private practice, as distinguished from extras) instead of the rate proposed in this despatch & the rate provisionally fixed 28/4 "See also antepenultimate para of our Report on 5708- and 42625
The officer selected should be informed that his services must be available if called upon by the P. M. O for other than Port work.
