No. 35

Locale

Government House,

Hongkong, 24th January, 1902.

1152

Sir,

I have the honour to transmit for your

consideration the enclosed Memorial, Declarations and Certificates relative to the petition of Mr. Prosper d'Agostini to

be naturalized as a British subject under Section 7 of 53

Victoria Cap.14.

2.

Mr. d'Agostini has been on the temporary

staff of the Naval Yard in this Colony for more than twelve

years. He contracted plague last year, and owing to the indifferent health arising therefrom, has been advised by his

Doctors to leave this Colony. With this object in view he has

applied through the proper authorities for a transfer, and if

possible for a situation under the Government at Malta. He

hopes that, if he is permitted to become a fully naturalised

British subject, he may be put on the permanent staff and acquire the privileges attached thereto.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient

Humble servant,

W. Gascoigne,

Major-General,

Administering the Government.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN, M.P.,
