Gov 7953 In accordance with your instructions contained in Circular Despatch of the 25th May, 1897, I have the honour to transmit for your information the enclosed copy of a report by the Acting Superintendent of Victoria Gaol covering a return of all whippings inflicted in the Gaol during the year 1901.
2. The type of instrument used in the infliction of corporal punishment is shown for the first time in the return, in compliance with instructions received in Your Despatch No.222 of the 4th July, 1901.
