The former is to be presented by Mr. Chater, the latter by Mr. Bell-Irving. Thus in Hong-Kong we should have fitly represented the venerable sovereign during whose long and glorious reign the Colony was founded, the present King, under whom we hope to see it progress and expand, and the present Prince of Wales, who has visited the Colony and will some day, in the course of nature, rule over it. On the southern side we should have the King's gallant brother, who took a lively interest in the Colony when here in 1900, and whose career in India is so well known in the East.

We shall be glad, therefore, if you will kindly lay before His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales these proposals, obtain their sanction and approval of the same, and we venture to hope that they will be endorsed by the Colonial Government.
