fault of my own and to England Nove, $/95 and ask you to kindly advise me as to the proper course of procedure in order to lay my claim. Continual illness has prevented me making application earlier.

I was invalided home on August 26th 1897 and transferred from Winchester Gaol under the name of Governor Major Lane to Victoria Gaol Hong Kong by Superintendent Cap May.

I shall thank you if you will guide me as to my proper course to pursue. My object in writing you is to know what emoluments I am entitled to, having been sent home before my terms were completed through ill health & not through any fault of my own.

I have all my Official Papers.

Faithfully Yours,

A. C. C. Vince
