I am directed by Mr Secretary Chamberlain to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 30th ultimo, W.L.3546/2803, on the subject of the supply of stone for the extension of the Naval Yard at Hong Kong.

2.) The Governor of the Colony has been asked to report fully on the matter.

3. Mr Ormsby the late Director of Public Works was also consulted and I am to enclose for their lordships' information a copy of his reply of 9 October.
