Secretary, Colonial Office,
that might seem to hang fire,
and Penclose a copy of his reply.
7. I approve of
the promotion of Mr. Hollingsworth to the rank of Executive Engineer; and I have no objection to provision being
made on
the Estimates
for 1902, for the appointment of an additional Assistant Engineer,
to
fill the vacancy caused by Mr. Hollingsworth's
promotion, and an additional Land Bailiff.
4. In view of telegram of the
Governor, I am not
disposed to
reject
Mr. O'Mally's suggestion
as to the post of
Principal Land Surveyor. The C. A. for
Colonies will accordingly
be asked to select
a suitable officer from this Country for the post.
They
will also be
asked
how soon
to engage an additional Assistant Engineer, who
will, of course, not reach this Colony before 1st January
next, at the
earliest.
